Welcome...to a NuEngland

England is no longer populated by 'people' or 'citizens'. We are now a nation of "stakeholders" and "service users".

A country of "actors" drowning in a neverending sea of mediocrity, presided over by our new ruling class....the Mediocracy.
Mediocre people of limited intelligence and creativity have somehow become our new lords and masters.

In this blog (or Inter-diary, as I prefer to call it) we bear witness to the tide of mediocrity that is engulfing our tiny, sceptered isle. Fellow stakeholders, let us share our experiences of true, staggering mediocrity & ineptitude! Of banality and sheer bloody-mindedness. Of jobsworthiness and petty meddling...

We are no longer a nation of shopkeepers, but of middle managers or something-or-other "consultants".
There aren't just 'problems' any more, there are "issues around".
We must "benchmark" things to ensure they're "fit for purpose".
We must ensure that our thinking is "joined-up", and that we use a "bottom-up" strategy to "engage" the key actors in this comedy of errors.

We must think outside the box, push the envelope and, above all, be ready to change. Always change!

We must prove our "competencies", we must strive for excellence, but achieve only the sufficient level of crapness to meet our stated goals, which must be modest.
Your house isn't a house - it's a property.
Your car isn't a car - it's a vehicle.
You are not to be referred to as 'you' - your are "yourself".

Friends, join myself & vent spleen (plus or minus other largely expendable organs)...
